Dr. Gehan is a founding partner at LexAG, a law firm based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Prior to co-founding LexAG, Gehan was a Research Director at the Colombo-based think tank, Verité Research. He was a member of the negotiation team that secured Sri Lanka’s readmission to the European Union’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP)+ trade concession facility in 2016. Gehan’s doctoral thesis in law at the University of Oxford focused on state authority to limit individual freedom under international law.
